NO MORE WAR EP

This two-track release is a political project, serving as both a fundraising effort to bring some joy into the lives of the Gaza Skate Team living in an Israel-induced nightmare, and a statement against the ideology of war. The skaters in Gaza traverse perilous labyrinths of rubble and artillery in search for a smooth ramp like a flat stretch of concrete rooftop that has been reduced to ground level from Israeli bombardment. They ride on top of rubble, they practice tricks and teach children. This EP is an effort to keep this practice alive in a time where death surrounds the people of Gaza, the West Bank and the whole of Palestine, day and night.

'NO MORE WAR' is a plain, simple and self-explanatory message. It is not calling on the sanitisation of war through an idea of humane warfare. It is not calling on a ceasefire. It is a message that is bold enough to demand the end to warfare forever, period. It is a seemingly radical message in today's climate but in reality, choosing to refuse the normalisation of killing, is pure common sense. Ayaluna was born to a Lebanese mother who grew up running away from bombs in Beirut. The inherited grief and the haunting stories of her families' life in Lebanon have been the cornerstones of Ayalunas' work, craft and purpose. This EP is born out of duty and identity. It is the first of many.
