Artists For Others are excited to announce that the Charlotte Museum is our new home for Passing Through!
The Charlotte Museum is the world’s only lesbian museum. Founded in 2007, the Charlotte Museum exists as a way to represent the lives of ordinary lesbian sapphic peoples and communities. They are a museum, gallery, research library, and document archive.
The Charlotte Museum upholds the importance of existing as a safe space for the queer community as a primary focus, and our kaupapa meet with such synchronicity, we could not have found a better place to host Passing Through going forward.
Passing Through is a primarily music focused program, but occasionally explores other creative outlets as well, most recently we hosted a 2 week introduction to crochet, and other workshops such as dance, and Raranga Harakeke are coming soon! Our next session will be a voter enrolment party this Thursday, August 20th.
Facilitated by Jujulipps and Otherwoman, with guests such as JESSB, Passing Through is a program by the queer community, for the queer community. Expect chats and laughs, free kai, and the chance to upskill and build community while following your creative passions!
Whether you’re LGBT or an ally, youth or youthful at heart, there are no identity requirements for participation. Passing Through is a safe space for any who want to join. All are welcome, hate is not.
No sign up necessary, just pass through, and we’ll take care of the rest.
